CobbAvian48 distributor AVEX chooses for HatchTraveller
AVEX Genetica Avicola, distributor of CobbAvian48 in Peru and Ecuador, has purchased a HatchTraveller to deliver its high
quality parent stock products to its customers. AVEX is also using HatchTech technology for its incubation process.
Mr. Oscar Ponce Secada, Director of AVEX: “Delivering quality parent stocks to our customers in Perú and Ecuador definitely includes perfect transport.
We have experience that traditional systems depend too much on external temperatures. If it is too hot, or too cold outside, it becomes difficult
to maintain good chick temperatures in the truck. The HatchTraveller, bases its technology on laminar airflow and abundant cooling
capacity. We are familiar with the technology as we use the similar concept in our incubation facility. The HatchTraveller will maintain our
excellent chick quality during transport and we will offer the best genetics in the best truck!’’.
The HatchTraveller of AVEX will be demonstrated to the public during VIV 2010, from 20-22 April in Utrecht
the Netherlands.

3rd HatchTraveller for Inghams Enterprises
After successfully integrating two HatchTravellers into their operation in 2006 and 2007, Inghams Enterprises from Australia, has recently expanded their
chick delivery fleet with vehicle number three. The HatchTravellers are of the largest available type and transport up to 180.000 doc/load. Australia is a country with
extreme temperature profiles and large distances. Inghams has chosen the HatchTravellers for its unique air flow system (based on HatchTech technology) and the ability
to keep all birds within the system at a 104 F chick temperature, regardless from the outside conditions. Results over the last 4 years have shown that HatchTraveller
preserves chick quality during chick transport.
Besides HatchTravellers, HatchTech also supplied two major hatcheries to Inghams: Inghams Mt. Alford Hatchery and Inghams Murraylands Hatchery, both with an incubation
capacity of 80 million doc/year.
Inghams is a multifaceted company that is today a large and significant contributor to the food industry and in particular the poultry industry with over 8,000 employees
and operating in all States in Australia and New Zealand. Poultry production is the core business of the corporation and over time Inghams has become one of the largest

Succesfull first year of the new way of humidification: U-VaporatorTM
Exactly one year ago, during the EuroTier in Germany, HatchTech introduced the U-VaporatorTM.
HatchTech looks back at a succesfull first year of this innovative new product.
The HatchTech U-VaporatorTM is a humidification device that produces a constant very fine vapour of water droplets, with a size of 1 micron (30-50 times smaller than traditional sprayers). The U-VaporatorTM is used in both incubators as hatchers. Due to the small droplet size and the laminar airflow the embryo can issue the optimum amount of heat, resulting in outstanding and uniform chick quality.
Record sales
The sales of the U-VaporatorTM has exceeded our expectations. Although customers still have the option to choose between traditional sprayers and U-VaporatorsTM, we see that they have only opted for U-VaporatorTM. An example: HatchTech's latest project in the middle east, Radwa Poultry, has requested 125 U-VaporatorsTM. Overall, HatchTech looks back at a total of 1000+ U-VaporatorsTM sold. Besides new customers, also customers with running hatcheries (both HatchTech as other brands) implemented this product with satisfying results.
Application in other areas
After the introduction of the U-VaporatorTM , the HatchTech research department continued monitoring the results in daily practice. They continuously confirm that the solution has a positive effect on uniform chick quality. As a result of the enthusiastic feed back of our customers, the device is now also used in other areas of the hatchery, such as egg-storage, setter-, and hatchery corridors, and chick storage rooms. An example of this is the installation of the U-VaporatorTM at Cobb Elsinglane breeder hatchery in the United Kingdom were the device was installed in both incubators, hatchers and production areas.

An incredible milestone for major HatchTech customer Baiada poultry
The 27th July 2009, is an incredible milestone for one of our major customers, Baiada Poultry, as it represents the bringing together of the Bartter and Steggles businesses into the Baiada Group. This acquisition comprises the purchase of the Bartter operations throughout Australia, with the exception of Victoria.
In 2001 Baiada Poultry, Australia, and HatchTech Incubation Technology signed their first contract for the delivery of setter machines for the Baiada Gawler Hatchery. Shortly after that, numerous machines followed. After the experiences in Gawler, Baiada decided to select HatchTech as supplier for what is regarded as most modern large-scale hatchery of the Southern Hemisphere. This new Baiada Hatchery is located in Tamworth, in northern New South Wales. HatchTech supplied 54 setters with a capacity of 126.720 eggs, 9 setters with a capacity of 84480 eggs, and 30 hatchers with a capacity of 42240 eggs. The hatchery has a total doc/week hatching capacity of over 2.1 million and is operational since the end of September 2008.
HatchTech congratulates the Baiada Group with this significant step forward!

New in the Research Library:
Big is beautiful! If you can handle it...
Broiler breeder eggs tend to increase in size, due to genetic selection for growth. This creates a challenge for incubators and hatchery managers, as many machines used in the industry are not designed for these increased egg sizes. As the trend to bigger egg sizes will most probably continue, this will become an issue of increasing importance, especially in multi-stage machines. A proper design of both trays and incubators will allow an incubation process that can handle the egg sizes of today and in the future and facilitate maximum incubation results and optimum chick quality.

New scientific abstract Research Library: Embryo temperature during incubation: practice and theory (A. Lourens)
At 19 december 2008, Ir. Sander Lourens (Animal Science Group, Wageningen University) successfully completed his PhD thesis, entitled "Embryo temperature during incubation: practice and theory" In his studies, Dr. Ir. Lourens concluded that the most important factor for chick quality during incubation is the embryo temperature. A constant embryo temperature of 100°F resulted in the best hatchability and the best embryo development. His findings confirm the importance of creating an uniform embryo temperature throughout the machine. The HatchTech concept with gas sealed incubation and laminar airflow, is based on this uniform embryo temperature. HatchTech has been actively involved in the study of Dr. Ir. Lourens. Dr. Ron Meijerhof from HatchTech has acted as advisor during this project, together with Prof. Bas Kemp and Dr. Henry van den Brand from Wageningen University.
