Day old chick fluff is hard to remove from the air due to its specific characteristics. Filters are getting blocked easily by the fine particles. In some hatcheries, the air goes straight from the hatcher into the open air. Most hatcheries, however, use a fluff room (plenum). With a fluff room, still up to 50% of the fluff is escaping into the outside environment
HatchTech developed a revolutionary solution to capture the fluff before it leaves the hatcher: the HatchTech CyCleanTM.

CyCleanTM Concept
The HatchTech CyCleanTM is placed in the outgoing airflow of the hatcher. The concept is based on cyclone technology:
• The air with fluff goes through the HatchTech CyCleanTM;
• The HatchTech CyCleanTM separates the fluff from the air by making use of spiral movements;
• Fluff is collected in fluff bins at the bottom;
• Clean air leaves the hatcher.

Clean Air
With the HatchTech CyCleanTM, 95% of the produced fluff which traditionally leaves the hatcher, is captured in the machine via a cyclone concept. This results in exhaust of clean air and will prevent (cross) contamination in and around the hatchery.
Space reduction
The unique design of the HatchTech CyCleanTM makes fluff rooms (plenums) redundant. The space reduction with the HatchTech CyCleanTM will approximately be 20% in the hatcher area, resulting in a decrease of building costs, operational costs and labour costs.
